*New in 2024, the SCGA Amateur Championship is an official USGA Exemption Event. The Champion will earn an automatic exemption into the 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship.

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
- 72 holes; stroke play.
- 84 players, comprised of exempt players and qualifiers, will compete in the championship.
Monday, July 8: Round 1 (18 holes)
Tuesday, July 9: Round 2 (18 holes)
Following the second round, the field will be cut to the low 42 scores (and ties)
Wednesday, July 10: Round 3 (18 holes)
Thursday, July 11: Round 4 (18 holes)
All non-exempt players will participate in an 18-hole, stroke-play qualifying round. The Championship will be a walking-only event. Golf Carts are only permitted during qualifying rounds.

Wednesday, June 5: Arroyo Trabuco GC, Mission Viejo
Thursday, June 6: Brookside GC (Course #1), Pasadena
Tuesday, June 11: Olivas Links GC, Ventura
Wednesday, June 12: El Dorado Park GC, Long Beach
Wednesday, June 12: Steele Canyon GC (Ranch/Vineyard, Jamul
Thursday, June 13: Soboba Springs GC, San Jacinto
Monday, June 17: Shadowridge GC, Vista
NOTE: Players may only attempt to qualify once.
ELIGIBILITY: This championship is open to amateurs who are members of a current SCGA member club with a Handicap Index of 5.4 or less at the time of registration.
EXEMPTIONS: All exempt players must still meet eligibility requirements and register online for the championship before the entry closing date. The current list of exemptions can be found online by clicking here.
ENTRIES OPEN: Wednesday, January 10, 2024
ENTRY DEADLINE: Sunday, May 19, 2024
INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed, and posted on scga.org after entries close.
EXEMPT PLAYER ENTRY FEE: $225
LATE ENTRIES: The SCGA accepts late entries, assuming space is still available at the given event. Late entries will be subject to an additional $20 fee and can only be processed over the phone or through email.
REFUND POLICY: Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
